We want to wish you and your fellow employees a joyous Christmas season, time for relaxation, the chance for reflectivness on the important things in life as well as a prosperous year 2015!

For many years now, we take this chance and support charitable facilities instead of making the usual Christmas gifts. This year’s donee is the “Olgäle foundation for the diseased child”.  

Incorporating the large scale of the production plant, KOP´s contribution to this innovative project was to develop an ergonomic and efficient working environment for employees of Steelwind, while producing mega-wind turbines. The interior concept was developed with VR-based visualization and the outcome has been continuously verified virtually, together with the user, during the process of development.

Within the BoGy-internship we offer young people the chance to see behind the curtain of the job profile of an architect with its diverse facets, and we give them the opportunity to discover the joy of designing the built environment.

These days KOP once again supported a student of the Sailer High School in Waiblingen to get to know commercial enterprises and to explore their operational sequences.

With the development of the planning and evaluation tool „ProNaSys“ we own a tool that allows us to answer this question. ProNaSys stands for productive sustainability system, which is based on the principles of the German Sustainability Council (DGNB). Complete building systems, differentiated by their building components, can be analyzed under the aspects of productivity like e.g. work processes, corporate image and the satisfaction of employees. With the results of the evaluation the distinctions, like potentials and shortcomings of different building systems, become obvious. Thus the comprehensive evaluation tool ProNaSys becomes a fundamental indicator, to identify and to boost sustainable structures, as well as to support complex decision processes.

KOP now has successfully designed and implemented a corporate canteen with affiliated training center for the corporation Bosch in Leinfelden, an international leader in technology. The existing building has been completely remodeled to allow for flexible and freely configurable training classrooms next to the corporate canteen. The canteen sets new standards e.g. with its front cooking concept, free-flow food court and clearly defined zoning, which can be utilized for informal meetings and communication outside of lunch hours.

The light-colored and friendly space makes a lunch break a relaxing experience and offers the canteen staff an attractive working environment.

The recently published competence atlas illustrates the chances offered by this economic sector and identifies the businesses, that already today, offer the skills and experiences in this field. KOP is part of the competence atlas, which was published by the platform of environmental engineering and by the promotion of economic development of the Stuttgart region. The committee is consulting the plenary meeting of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry about the future positioning in terms of their energy policy. In addition the board develops recommendations for the expansion of the range of services offered by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the energy sector – a topic of major importance for all businesses. Steffen Klingler is bringing in his expertise in planning and constructing energy optimized buildings, PlusEnergy houses, and the development of decentralized energy concepts with smart grids.  

Besides the headquarters and logistic center, the complex also accommodates the product development and serves as training center. For this purpose KOP is developing a multifunctional building, which supports the exchange of knowledge and information among the employees. When optimizing the energy concept the owner took advantage of the comprehensive expertise of KOP: Most of the heat required for the complex is being produced by renewable energy sources like e.g. solar heat. The piles, necessary for the foundation, are also being used for energy supply just as the water tank of the fire sprinkling system, which serves as heat reservoir. With its flexible ability to cope with conversions, the building is well prepared for the future requirements.

Based on this idea KOP developed a multifunctional creativity zone for a large leader in technology nearby Stuttgart. “GreenField” is an unconventionally styled space, which pinpoints the requirements of the users. Users are being carried away from the daily routine by organic surfaces, walls that appear as a grassland and seating furniture that remind participants of large pebble stones to sit on. Acoustically effective constructions zone or separate the space whenever necessary and various available light scenes create different scenarios. All this serves creative work and contributes to the revenue. The additional benefit also convinced the executive board to support this approach.

This year we want to go without a conventional Christmas present and instead KOP is donating for the charitable foundation Kinderland Baden-Württemberg.

The futuristic appearance of the building was designed by the Dutch UNStudio and ASPLAN. KOP accompanied successfully the process of certification for sustainability as DGNB Auditor. The building was awarded with the DGNB certificate in gold, handed over by the managing director of the DGNB, Doctor Christine Lemaitre.

KOP accompanies the corporation on its way to achieve a DGNB certificate. The pre-certification in gold was already awarded in march 2012.

Since April of 2010 we have realigned ourselves. From 15.05.2010 on KOP will meet the new challenges of the market strengthened with its new business divisions, many years of experience, successful projects and updated Corporate Identity.

We are looking forward to a successful collaboration in the future.

Besides the political scope, the business delegation focused on establishing new economic relations to the Indian market. The visit also gave opportunity to intensify our business relations to our clients when visiting the new overseas branch of Bosch Ltd. In Bengaluru.  

For the first time, from 5th to 7th October of 2009 on the trade fair Expo Real in Munich, industrial and commercial buildings were awarded by the DGNB. The German Sustainability Council awarded more than 30 outstanding buildings with the much sought-after quality certification, one of them being the high rack warehouse in Hagenow.

Objective of this four-day trip was to strengthen the economic relations between Baden-Württemberg and Russia. The Agenda in Moscow included discussions with government officials, as well as an economic forum and a presentation of Baden-Württemberg as a location of tourism. Highlights of the journey were the inauguration of the “German Centres”, a concert with young musicians of Baden-Württemberg and Russia performing together in the new opera of Moscow, as well as the grand opening of the art exhibition of the duchess of Württemberg by Mr. Oettinger and his fiancé. 

The new name will be accompanied by a revision of the corporate identity and a new design of the KOP homepage. According to these changes the names of the three business divisions will be KOP Care, KOP Create and KOP Consult.

The launch of the new CI and the revised homepage will be likely going online at the beginning of May 2010.

KOP is member of the DGNB and involved in the development of standards for the sector of industrial buildings. In future KOP will also be involved in training auditors.

On 13th January 2009 the projected ‘Center for Virtual Engineering’ ofthe Fraunhofer IAO has received the pre-certification in goldbythe DGNB. Estimated completion of the building will be in 2010

In such a dynamic working environment, real workplaces increasingly merge with virtual knowledge spaces.

At the end of November 2008, mayor and member of the regional parliament Christoph Palm, was able to experience this by himself in his function as chairman of the board of the Virtual Dimension Center (VDC) when participating at the grand opening of the 3-D visualization lounge at KOP.

Since 2006 KOP Real Estate Solutions is member of the VDC competence network. KOP is applying latest technology, e.g. the technology of virtual reality with immersive stereo-projection, like it is now being used in its own corporate 3-D visualization lounge.

On the 17th formal discussions with government officials of Kazakhstan, a conference of the government work group ‘trade and commerce’ and a symposium about energy policy took place in Astana.

On the 18th of October 2007 the German Club of Economy organized and invited to the German-Kazakh forum of economy in Almaty within the framework of the 9th annual day of the German Economy in Kazakhstan.

On the 19th of October the trip ended with a stop over in Baku where the Azerbaijanian development association for economy organized and invited to the German-Azerbaijanian forum of economy.

The main focus was on the presentation of the Kreuzäcker project development for commercial use in Weinstadt,   which is supplied by renewable energy sources.

Beautiful summer weather allowed celebrating outdoor. Great catering and entertainment from the band ‘The Beaster’ framed the festivity.

Architectural highlight and also center of the new building is the showroom with its wall of masonary block sandstone and the glass façade of the entry, which expands up to the gable. The spacious sales room for bottled wine with its open office gallery, as well as the wine press hall and the wine cellar are located on the same floor of the L-shaped, two story building. This layout provides optimal conditions for the production and presentation of wine.

The architects of KOP want to thank the Zimmerle family once again for the productive and trustfully cooperation and want to wish great success for the future.   

In the course of several months, the KOP engineers developed, supported by their various business units, an integral building structure of modern work organization, architecture, engineering and economic approach.

He informed himself about the fields of activity as well as current projects of both companies. Among the inspired guests were also the mayor of Weinstadt, Mr. Oswald, as well as the President of the regional Chamber of Commerce Mr. Paal. 

About 150 guests appreciated particularly both companies for their philosophy and implementation of the cross-link between tradition and innovation.  

This concept reflects our belief that only a holistic approach can lead to innovative and modern concepts for office organization as well as sustainable success for enterprises. After the completion of a scientific preparatory work and time for field-testing we now finally can add another tool to our range of knowledge.

This years’ special: We had been invited to present our projects together with the economic region of Stuttgart. We will display the business park "Manufaktur 1880" -  as the 2nd construction stage of the prizewinning premises "Destillerie 1880" in Weinstadt.

The reason for celebrating was our received award for innovative solutions in regards of methodology and contents in the field of Engineering-Design.

The recognition and use of existing potentials for unusual and innovative solutions had been awarded.

Such an example for our daily business is the "Destillerie 1880" - former. JACOBI-premises in Weinstadt.

Here topics like synergies of urbanity, free space, shared facilities in engineering and production are implemented on the same location.

 This is why it is exactly the right place for celebrating!

 So this evening the site demonstrated its glamorous ambiance which was supported by clubbing zone, live music, wines of the region and delicious Swabian food.

In addition the unusual spatial relations of the buildings and the plant granted interesting and unusual views of the two enterprises’ business fields.

 Apart from the guest speeches of Mayor Oswald, the former Prime Minister Professor Dr. Lothar Spaeth as well as Rezzo Schlauch, Member of Congress, which gathered under the slogan "fascination Germany - an innovation journey to the Rems Valley", many opinions were exchanged, new networks were born and/or reactivated.

 It was a very successful evening and therefore we would like to thank you for your attendance and the large interests in our enterprises.

The price-winning contributions of the competition are characterised by the spatial proximity of dwellings and jobs. It exemplarily stands for current requirements of the city and municipal development. The “Destillerie 1880” as an successful example shows how future tasks can be conquered, which is why our office that represents architects, engineers, industrial engineers and surveyors received a third price.
